Horse Riding

Horse riding improves co-ordination and balance, and boosts confidence, and it also encourages communication – between the rider and the horse, and the rider and the helpers, all of which are beneficial to children on the autism spectrum. interAKtive has developed a close relationship with Epsom Riding for the Disabled Association (ERDA), and now has regular sessions there during the school summer holidays. Horse riding is also included in the programme of events for some of the children who attend the charity’s summer play scheme.
As an organisation, Epsom RDA has shown great interest in expanding its knowledge of autism, and interAKtive has been involved in a training session with some of the group leaders.
